Meet MAKO Girls
MAKO Girls are an Atlanta-based R&B and Pop trio made up of sisters Mimi, Kena, and A-Ni Ochoa. Inspired by icons like TLC, Mindless Behavior, and Doja Cat, they blend smooth vocals, energetic choreography, and vibrant personality to create a sound and style all their own. Since emerging on the scene, they've performed at over 300 shows nationwide and gained recognition from outlets such as BET.com, Sheen Magazine, and Hype Magazine. Beyond music, they founded the annual MAKO Girls Carnival Glow Party, an event that has grown into a platform for rising artists to showcase their talent.
Our Impact
This group ran a two-month PlaylisterClub campaign starting in early September 2025, for their track "Celebration." This ongoing campaign managed to generate 65 total playlist placements, 14 curator reviews, and exposure to +1.6 million playlist followers.
At the start date of this campaign, MAKO Girls were reported to have about 1,924 Spotify monthly listeners. As the campaign continued to develop on the platform and reach more playlisters, their Spotify monthly listeners have boosted upwards to 2,990 listeners by the end date – this is a 55.41% overall increase in new Spotify monthly listeners throughout the entire timeline of this campaign.
Greater Success
It's also worth noting how at one point during the run time of this PlaylisterClub campaign, they achieved a significant peak of 3,094 Spotify monthly listeners. This is a great example of how a playlisting campaign can spark more organic audience engagement for an artist, allowing key metrics to peak because their releases are being intentionally supported and promoted. By giving "Celebration" ample time to grow on the platform, the MAKO Girls allowed its momentum to build naturally. In return, they saw meaningful audience growth and gained valuable insights from playlisters.
